This policy explains what information the ZeroMusic Android app ("ZeroMusic", "the app") uses and why. In short: ZeroMusic has no servers of its own, shows no ads, has no analytics or tracking, and does not sell or share your data.
To work, the app keeps the following on your phone, in storage only ZeroMusic can access:
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this from your phone.
If you choose Sign in with Google, the app asks Google for two permissions:
| Permission | What ZeroMusic does with it |
|---|---|
email | Shows which Google account you're signed in with, in Settings. The address is stored only on your phone. |
drive.appdata | Saves one backup file (liked songs, playlists, listening history and settings) in a hidden app folder in your Google Drive, and reads it back when you sign in on another phone. This permission only covers ZeroMusic's own folder: the app cannot see, open or change any other files in your Drive. |
This data goes directly between your phone and Google. It never passes through servers run by us, and we never have access to it. The backup is stored under your Google account and governed by Google's privacy policy.
If you choose Sign in to YouTube Music, you sign in on Google's own page inside the app. ZeroMusic never sees your password. After sign-in, the app keeps the resulting YouTube Music session on your phone and uses it only to read your library (your playlists and Liked Music) so it can import them. The session is sent only to music.youtube.com, never to us or anyone else. Settings → YouTube Music library → Sign out deletes it from your phone, and you can end the session any time from your Google account's device list.
ZeroMusic's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the backup and sync feature described above. It is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to anyone else, not used to train AI or machine-learning models, and not read by humans.
To play music and provide features, the app connects directly from your phone to these services. They receive your IP address and the request itself (for example, a search term), as any website you visit would, and handle it under their own privacy policies:
Bluetooth (optional): only if you turn on Auto-play on Bluetooth, so the app can tell when headphones, a speaker or your car connects. It isn't used for anything else. Install apps: lets Zero-Music install its own updates.
ZeroMusic is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
